The nearest airport is in Bolzano (www.abd-airport.it), other airports are located in Verona, in innsbruck (approx. 2 hours by car).
By train

There are bike rentals at seven train stations on the Bozen - Meran - Mals line in Bozen Süd, Meran (goods station area), Naturns, Latsch, Schlanders, Spondinig and Mals. Then there is the rental on the Reschen. Bicycles can be rented and returned everywhere. There are over 1000 bikes available, such as mountain bikes, city bikes, trekking bikes, children's bikes and 10 tandems.
Tourist Attractions
- Juval Castle. The castle was built by Hugo von Montalban around 1278. Since 1983 it has been the summer residence of Reinhold Messner, who has housed several art collections there. There is no parking space at the castle. It is possible to use the shuttle bus or to go on foot. The castle can be reached in various ways, such as the Stabener Waalweg, Tscharser Waalweg or Schnalser Waalweg.
- Messner Mountain Museum, Juval Castle, 39020 Kastelbell (BZ). Tel.: 39 348 4433871, Email: [email protected]. The Messner Mountain Museum with art collections and collections of objects from the Himalayas is located in Juval Castle.Open: Palm Sunday to June 30th and from September 1st to the first Sunday in November 10:00 am - 4:00 pm, Wed is the day off, tours are only possible with a guide.
- Kastelbell Castle, Schlossweg 1, 39020 Kastelbell-Tschars. The castle is a medieval castle built on a boulder above the Adige. The oldest documented mention comes from 1238. After fires in the 19th century, the building became a ruin. It was not until 1956 that the palace was acquired by the Italian state and restored from 1987 to 1995. It has been run by the Kastelbell Castle Board of Trustees since 1999 and is open to the public. - Plate mill. The Plattermühle in Tschars is an old grain mill that has been renovated in recent years.

- The Schnalswaal-Tscharser Waalweg At 11 kilometers, it is one of the longest whales in South Tyrol and is still used today for irrigation. Construction began in 1505 and was completed after 12 years, and has been in operation ever since. The Waalweg is relatively flat and easy to walk.
- One way to follow marker 3 leads from Neuratheis in Schnalstal via Juval Castle to Tschars. The path takes about three hours to walk, and it is recommended that you reach the starting point in Neuratheis by bus. You can also start this Waalwegrunde in Tschars at the Himmelreich restaurant.
- Another possibility is to start from Tschars (627 m), height difference approx. 200 m, walking time approx. 3 to 4 hours. Parking is available in Tschars on the parking lot in the curve in front of the town center. Follow the marking 1 A on a farm driveway up to the branching off path 3 and follow this up to the Tscharser Schnalswaal (760 m). Next to the Waal eastwards to the Sonnenhof snack bar (830 m). Here you can make a detour to Juval Castle or to the Waalerhütte with the Wahlhammer. Return via paved path no. 1 in the direction of Staben down to the sign to the Himmelreich restaurant. From here on an unmarked, but easily accessible path along the Waal back to the end of the Waal and then a few meters to Tschars.
