Katunayake is a city in Gampaha district in the Western province of Sri Lanka, It forms an administrative unit "Katunayake-Seeduwa" with its seat in Seeduwa with the town of Seeduwa in the south.

background

In Katunayake is the Colombo airport or Bandaranaike International Airport, also signposted with BIA. Numerous companies have settled near the airport, not least because of the free trade zone established in 1970 Export Promotion Zone. The hotels located near the airport are also more geared towards business and air travelers than city tourists and beach holidaymakers.
