- Village center of Niederkaufungen with half-timbered houses
- Collegiate Church of Oberkaufungen - The important building of the Ottonian Renaissance was consecrated in 1025 and is part of the former Kaufungen Monastery, a Benedictine monastery. Inside the church there are wall paintings, so-called secco paintings from the 15th and early 16th centuries, and the painted wooden ceilings from the 16th century are also worth seeing. A general renovation was well advanced in 2015.

Steinertsee leisure facility
The Steinertsee leisure facility With playground and Large model railway lies between lower and upper purchases. The Modell-Bahn-Club Kassel e.V. operates the Steinertseebahn with 127 and 184 mm track width. The large model railway with live steam operation is a great destination, especially for families. On the days of travel (mostly on Sundays and public holidays), which mostly take place in the summer half-year, you can ride on the large open-air facility with almost 1800 m of track system.
