The Krakau Valley belongs to Upper Styria.

The Krakau Valley is a high plateau that extends in the southern part of the Schladminger Tauern in an east-west direction. It houses three communities with a total of around 1500 inhabitants. On the south side of the plateau lies northwest of the main town Krakaudorf the community Krakauhintermühlen, to the west of the Salzburg border is the municipality Cracow shadow.

- Already the legend about that Water target shooting in Krakauhochtal sounds mysterious. At the end of the 19th century, two poachers pursued their forbidden passion in Kraków. After an unsuccessful hunt, they met at the Schattensee. Across the lake one of them called to his friend that he could clearly see his reflection on the surface of the water. He aimed, pulled the trigger, and the friend collapsed, fatally hit. For a long time no one could explain why the ball bouncing off the surface of the water hit its target exactly. Today we know that at the high speed and the low angle of impact of the projectile, the water behaves like a solid body and the projectile reflects at the same angle. Today there is water target shooting at the Schattensee and at the neighboring Prebersee. Still. The mirror image of the target set up on the other bank is shot from one bank of the mirror-like lake. The ball bouncing off the surface of the water must hit the cardboard disk hanging above the water. The distance is 107 meters and the center of the disc is 50 cm above the water level. Günster waterfall
