Southern Federal District

The Krasnodar Territory (Краснодарский край) is in the Russian federal district Southern Russia. It borders on the oblast Rostov, to the region Stavropol and on Karachay Cherkessia. To the west of that is that Black sea and the for Ukraine belonging peninsula Crimea. In the south it borders on that Georgia counting Abkhazia. The Republic Adygea is completely enclosed by the Krasnodar Territory.
