The oblast Rostov on Don (Russian: Ростовская область) lies in the federal district Southern Russia. It borders on the to the west Ukraine and the Black sea, in the north to the oblasts Voronezh and Volgograd. In the east it borders on the republic Kalmykia, in the south to the regions Stavropol and Krasnodar.
