- 1 Chita – The capital of the Krai of Transbaikalia.

- 4 Nertchinsk – Small town that developed around a fort built in 1654.
- 5 Petrovsk-Zabaikalsky – The city developed around an iron and steel factory which was called "Stone Factory" (Petrovsky Zavod), in homage to Tsar Peter the Great. Its station is a stop on the Trans-Siberian railway
- 6 Zabaikalsk – Border town on the main line connecting the People's Republic of China to Russia. Its station is located on Chemin de fer Transmandchourien, a section of the Trans-Siberian railway.

- 1 Daourie nature reserve (Биосферный заповедник Даурский) – Located in the old historic region of Daourie, the reserve was established on and included in 1997 on the list of Unesco biosphere reserves1.
- 2 Darassoun (Дарасун) – Known for its thermal waters, the village of Darassoun flourished during the Soviet era.
