Chita is a city of Transbaikalian Krai.
Understand
Many travelers bypass Chita when leaving Russia via Irkutsk and Ulan-Ude and they go to the Mongolia and the China. However, Chita is worth a visit. It is a military town with restricted access. The city developed very quickly thanks to its position on the main trade route with China. Skyscrapers were hastily built next to the dilapidated log cabins.
