Kugaaruk is a community of Nunavut in the Northern canadian.
Understand
Kugaaruk is located on the shore of Pelly Bay near the Gulf of Boothia on the Simpson Peninsula in the region of Kitikmeot to Nunavut. According to the 2016 census, the community has a population of 933 inhabitants. The community has a classic architecture of the Great North. The main activities are hunting and fishing, but also Inuit art sculpture. The main attraction for visitors is the Catholic Church, built entirely of stone at the initiative of a priest in the 1930s to 1940s, which is unique in the Arctic. That said, the building is not very practical since stone is a very poor insulator; it is nevertheless a building of the heritage of the Nunavut.
