The town Koenigs Wusterhausen located in Brandenburg, not far from the city limits of Berlin. Königs Wusterhausen is known as the German radio town, in 1920 the first German radio station was put into operation here. The history of broadcasting can still be experienced here today.
getting there
The RegionalExpress RE2 runs every hour from downtown Berlin to the 1 Koenigs Wusterhausen train station
. From Berlin-Ostkreuz the regional train RB22 also runs every hour, from Berlin-Südkreuz and Berlin-Westend the S46 S-Bahn runs every 20 minutes.
By car you can reach Königs Wusterhausen via the Berliner Ring (A 10), exits Königs Wusterhausen and Niederlehme and via the Berlin Dresden motorway (A 13), exit Ragow.

1 Koenigs Wusterhausen Castle, Castle Square. Tel.: 49(0)3375 211 700. The castle gives an insight into the time of the "soldier king" Friedrich Wilhelm I, who liked to stay here. 40 pictures painted by the king can also be seen here.Characteristic:

Around the castle, the cavalier houses and the castle park are also worth seeing.
2 Transmitter and radio technology museum, Funkerberg 20, transmitter house 1. Tel.: 49(0)3375 294 755, Email: [email protected]. The museum is located on the area of the former transmission system, the Funkerberg. It shows numerous exhibits from broadcast technology, including a large transmitter that is still in working order. There is also a working 1000 hp diesel from 1937, which is usually put into operation on the last Sunday of the month.Open: Tue, Thu, Sat and Sun 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.Price: adults € 5, reduced € 3.
Also on the Funkerberg is the 210 m high "Mast 17", today the oldest German transmission tower still standing.

The outskirts of Berlin are not far away. The goals in the rural area are:
- Zossen (18 km southwest) - on the Zossen - Jüterbog adventure railway, one of the most important tourist attractions in the region, trolley trips have been carried out since 2003; Baroque Trinity Church in the village.
- Wünsdorf (26 km southwest) - former headquarters of the Soviet armed forces in Germany; numerous bunker systems from the time of the Wehrmacht; Book village.
- Ludwigsfelde (30 km to the west, A 10) - Kristalltherme thermal baths with the largest sauna in Germany.
- Storkow (30 km east, A 10 / A 12 direction Frankfurt / O.) - Small town on the Storkower See lake of the same name. Not far away are the Scharmützelsee, the Unterspreewald and the Dahmeland.
