La Brévine is a municipality of Swiss jura in the canton of Neuchâtel. It is an important center for cross-country skiing and holds the record for cold in Swiss with -41.8 ° C.
Understand
Nicknamed the Siberia of Switzerland, La Brévine is the coldest place in Switzerland. In winter it is not uncommon for temperatures to drop to -30 °. The cold record in Switzerland, currently still held by La Brévine, was established on at -41.8 °!
Placed at the bottom of the eponymous valley, the Brévine is also known for the Lac des Taillères. It is frozen for several months of the year because of the great cold that reigns there. By car
Since Le Locle (15 km), you will cross the valley on one side or the other. Indeed, you have the option of going through La Chaux-du-Milieu or Le Cerneux-Pequignot. The two roads meet in the middle of the village of La Brévine.
You can also come from Le Val-de-Travers. 2 possible routes: from Fleurier (13 km) or from The Verrières (15 km).
