Las Lajas is a small town with a seaside resort in the west Panamas. It is located in the east of the province Chiriquí near the Pacific coast in the district San Félix.

Las Lajas is a quiet place about 3 kilometers from the Panamericana and 10 kilometers from the Pacific. It is known for the associated beach, which is many kilometers long and extremely wide at low tide. A lot of townspeople come on weekends to relax. On the beach area to the right and left of the end of the street, more and more holiday homes and villas for emigrated North Americans are emerging.

By plane
The closest airport is at David, several times a day from Panama City reachable.
By bus
4 times a day there is a bus from David to Las Lajas. It is easier from David to take one of the buses that run several times an hour to San Félix or Tolé Cruce de San Félix to drive. This is also the exit point if you want to reach Las Lajas with one of the buses coming from Panama City. From the bus stop on the Panamericana, taxis go to town or to the sea. In the street
With your own vehicle you have to drive on the same roads as the buses. Shortly after reaching Las Lajas, the main road makes a sharp right turn, if you miss it, you end up on the dirt road to Remedios.
By boat
There are no connections with boats.

You can only get from Las Lajas to the sea by taxi or with the hosts of the local guest houses. The road to the sea is paved, dirt roads like the one to Remedios are unsuitable for normal cars, but you can take nice walks on these paths.
Tourist Attractions
The main attraction of Las Lajas is the long beach. To the east it is about 2km to the next river mouth, crossing this one arrives at the as yet undeveloped beach area of Remedios. To the west you reach an estuary after 5km. A few 100m inland the road leads along a lagoon with many birds.

If you are in Las Lajas with a vehicle, you can go on a discovery tour in the direction of the mountains, just across the Panamericana it gets hilly with nice rivers.
