Lassi is a tourist area of Kefalonia, just 1 km from Argostoli, the capital of the island
To know
Lassi is located on the same promontory where it is located Argostoli but, unlike this, it has the great advantage of facing the open sea. It is a mature tourist area, where the demands of mass tourism have ruined an idyllic corner of the Ionian Sea. Lassi was the first area to develop in Kefalonia thanks to its proximity to the capital. In 1971 the airport was inaugurated precisely to meet the increased tourist demand. Its visitors come mainly from UK and from other Northern European countries.
There are few Italians. Perhaps disturbing the excessive crowding, the outdoor restaurants dressed up like Christmas trees with many colored lights where Anglo-Saxon couples of the lower-middle class mimic the ways of the upper class. Perhaps we Italians are more congenial to areas with a more authentic character like Livathò, Agia Efimia is Fiskardo, or with a slightly less restricted atmosphere like the one you breathe on the coasts of Skala is Kateliò.
Still it must be emphasized that tourists from Northern Europe can take advantage of packages at bargain prices offered by tourism giants such as TUI or its subsidiaries. We do not have the same opportunity and if we dare to contact Lassi hoteliers individually, we risk paying double or triple for the same services. TUI however, since 2006 it has a site in Italian.

- Paliostafida - the narrow beach next to the Mediterranee hotel.
- Makris and Platis Yalos - The most famous beaches of Kefalonia (and the most crowded) are located just south of Lassi. These are two beaches separated from each other by a low cliff near the "White Rocks" hotel.
- Turcopodaro - Another beach still close to the "White Rocks" hotel and also swarming with bathers.

How to have fun
In Lassi, after dark, restaurants and clubs with full volume systems open and the area can take on the connotations of a luxury ghetto like nowadays there are so many in all the tourist resorts of Greece. Lassi is also very popular with local and non-EU males who work in Kefalonia and that in the evenings they flock there in droves from near and far countries with the hidden intention of flirting with some English girl or some Albanian maid. Do not expect discos with professional DJs but only clubs mostly outdoors where you can sip a "milkshake" while your eardrums undergo the assault of the strumming notes of Greek or international catchphrases.

High prices
- Mediterranee, ☎ 30 26710 28760, fax: 30 26710 24758, @[email protected]. 110-190 € for the double room (2007). A little dated property. It has been restored but its style still remains that of a barracks from the 60s that clashes with the thin beaches below, beautiful in any case but invariably crowded.
- White Rocks, ☎ 30 26710 28332, 30 26710 27755. This is also an older hotel but has undergone a more careful restoration than the previous one. It overlooks the enchanting beach of Platis Gialos but its prices are a bit steep.
- Limanaki, Lassi, ☎ 30 26710 25110. Hotel of cat "B".
