The Lavanttal (Carinthian: Lofntol; Slovenian: Labotska dolina) is located in the Lavanttal Alps in the south Of Austria in Eastern Carinthia.

Weinebene - a year-round touristic alpine village at 1668 m above sea level with cozy huts in the municipality of Frantschach-St.Gertraud. In summer a popular hiking area with high-altitude circular hiking trails on the Speikkogel or the circular hiking trail on the Bärofen.
In winter, due to the altitude, the slopes are now equipped with a snowmaking system, and snow is guaranteed. An ideal skiing and tobogganing area awaits you on the Weinebene. The European Natural Track Luge Championships were held here in February 2002.
