Le Faouët (Morbihan) is a french City in the department Morbihan, in the Brittany. The Breton name is Ar Faoued (translated Buchenhain).
background
Politically, the municipality belongs to the Arrondissement de Pontivy, and is the administrative center of the Canton du Faouët.
From 1845 to 1845 the place was one of the most important meeting places for artists in Cornouaille. Germain David-Nillet, Arthur Midy and Marius Borgeaud, for example, worked here.

- Chapelle Sainte-Barbe. The Sainte-Barbe chapel is located 100 meters above the Ellé gorge. A magnificent Renaissance staircase leads up to it.
