Redheads, small town jurassic located on the last plateau of Swear of the region Franche-Comte, at the foot of the Noirmont mountain, is a renowned winter sports resort.
The resort brings together 4 villages: Les Rousses, Prémanon, Bois d'Amont and Lamoura. Hence its name : The Station with 4 villages !
Understand
Since the mid-1970s, summer tourism has also grown significantly. Swimming in the waters of Lac des Rousses is a delight for young and old.
Les Rousses is the ideal starting point for day hikes. The vast forests of Haut-Jura and the thousand shaded valleys welcome a particularly exuberant flora during the summer months. The forests of Risoux and Massacre still offer an important wild life. The Capercaillie and the lynx inhabit these fir forests.

By car
Les Rousses is located on the national road 5 (RN 5) which leads to the Swiss. It takes about 5 h from the Paris region, 2 h from Lyon and fifty minutes since Geneva.

To see
Several museums are worth visiting, whether in Les Rousses, in the other towns of the resort in the four villages or nearby.
- Spectacle museum in Morez
- Museum of lapidaries or stonemasons in Lamoura
- Paul-Émile Victor Polar Center (Museum of the Great North) in Prémanon. This museum was created by Pierre Marc with Paul-Émile Victor. Initial presentation of the Polar Museum.
- Pipe museum in Saint-Claude - the reputation of the tailors and pipe cutters of Saint-Claude is well established.
- Wood Museum: The municipality of Bois-d'Amont has done a remarkable job of remembrance around woodworking activities. The museum of bushes shows the ingenuity of the Jura and sawyers. The whole smells of resin, shavings and fir. We learn how the wooden boxes allowed mountain people to live in these regions with a difficult climate.
Do
Ski
It has about twenty downhill ski slopes and more than 200 kilometers of marked Nordic ski slopes. Les Rousses belongs to the resort of 4 villages which brings together the municipalities of Bois-d'Amont, Prémanon as well as that of Lamoura.
Without forgetting the Transjurassienne ! Which since 1979 has been the biggest Nordic event in France, and the only national event to be a member of the Worldloppet.
