Lichtenstein is a German Municipality in the district Reutlingen, in Baden-Wuerttemberg. It is located in the Echaz valley at the foot of the Middle Swabian Alb.

The community emerged from the places in 1975 Holzelfingen, Honau and Unterhausen. The community of Unterhausen from the districts Oberhausen and Unterhausen existed.

The closest train station is Small boys, current terminus of the Swabian Alb Railway from Schelklingen (also the connecting station to the Hohenzollerische Landesbahn). The subsequent part through the Echaztal to Reutlingen with the rack section Lichtenstein - Honau has been closed, but there are plans for a reconstruction; on the last-mentioned section, not least for tourist reasons.
