Lipetsk (Russian: Ли́пецк) is a city in Central Russia and the administrative seat of the oblast of the same name. It is located about 375 km south of Moscow on the river Voronezh, who is near the city of Voronezh in the Don flows out.

The city of Lipetsk was founded around 1700 under the tsar Peter the Great as a workers' settlement next to an ironworks. It has about half a million inhabitants, most of whom work in the metal industry. In 1943 the tractor factory was opened Lipetsky Traktorny Zavod founded. Another large company is that NLMK (Nowolipetzk Metallurgical Combine.
