Livonia is a region in the northeast of Latvia on the border withEstonia.

- Latvian is the official language of Latvia.
- English it is the best option with young people as it is regularly taught as a first foreign language in schools.
- Russian it is widespread among the elderly and middle-aged.
- People of the northern areas (near Valka) could talk Estonian.
