Maaseik[1] is a city in Limburg. Maaseik is the cultural gem of the Maasland: a melting pot of Maasland renaissance architecture, city of the painter brothers Van Eyck and knapkoek. The renowned church treasures and St. Catherine's Church reflect the rich ecclesiastical history. The picturesque market square is one of the most beautiful in Belgium.
