Understand

Magic Kingdom is the main park of Walt Disney World Resort. The park is based on the park Disneyland To Anaheim in California. This park is designed with Cinderella Castle in its center; six thematic zones organize the park with Main Street U.S.A., Adventureland, Frontierland, Liberty Square, Fantasyland and Tomorrowland.

Of the resort's four parks, Magic Kingdom is the oldest, most popular, and most kid-friendly. In this park, we find the classic attractions of Disney parks with for example It's a small world. Adult visitors often favor Epcot Parks or Hollywood Studios.

Walt Disney was not one to rest on his laurels. The park Disneyland was a resounding success, but the space available in California was too restrictive. Disney had bigger ideas, much bigger than those made for Disneyland.

The solution was to buy thousands of hectares in Central florida, southwest ofOrlando, for a new Disney world, large enough to hold any ideas he and his Imagineers could come up with. The centerpiece was to be EPCOT, Walt's idea of a "Community of tomorrow" experimental where people would live, work and play. Although a Disneyland-style park was part of the project - a necessary concession to economic realities - Walt had little desire to recreate what he had done before, and his energies were focused on EPCOT.

But his death in 1966, will put an end to his vision of EPCOT. His brother and business partner, Roy O. Disney, was determined to move the project forward. Florida which would start with the enchanted Magic Kingdom.

Roy Disney worked tirelessly to keep the park open, to preserve at least part of his brother's last and biggest dream. 1er October 1971, the Magic Kingdom opens its doors, with many similarities with Disneyland but also with many differences. It was a resounding success, and although Roy Disney died two months later, Walt Disney World was successfully launched. Since then, success is at the rendezvous with Magic Kingdom.
