Malaita is an elongated volcanic island of the Solomon Islandswhich is still not very well developed in terms of tourism. The most important locality is Auki. The removal of Guadalcanal is around 50 kilometers.

A lot of cocoa is grown. The one at the 1 Lau lagoon living tribe of the same name, a "salt water people" (wane i asi) has a distinct culture that also includes dolphin hunting.

Auki

Aside from taxis from Auki, there are also opportunities to take a ride on the loading area of light trucks.
From Auki, a country road goes 65 kilometers along the west coast to Su'u Bay. To the north, past the airfield, the road goes across the island 1 Dingo dingo and from there a few kilometers further south on the east coast.
