Malekula it is one of the islands Vanuatu.
To know
Malekula is home to two tribes who practice ancestral rites: the Great Nambas and the Little Nambas. The former settled on the northwest coast of Malekula and practiced cannibalism until 1930. The latter are instead found in small villages scattered in the jungle of the south of the island. Many of the Little Nambas have converted to Christianity and wear Western clothing.

Urban centers
- Lakatoro - On the north-east coast, Lakatoro is the capital of the province of Malampa. In its vicinity is the Norsup runway where the Vanuatu air planes land.
- Lamap - On the southeast coast, Lamap lies on the deep Port Sandwich Bay sheltered from the winds.
- Maskelynes - Group of islands between coral reefs, the Maskelynes offer good opportunities to those who love to explore the seabed. Uluevo is the largest of the group and has 3 villages while Sakao boasts the best beaches. They can be reached by canoe. The inhabitants are known for their skill in building them.
- Wala & Go - North of Lakatoro are the islands of Wala and Vao inhabited by tribes who still wear traditional costumes.

Air Vanuatu flies by Port Vila is Espiritu Santo several times a week. The planes land at the Norsup runway.
