Marennes is a town in the department of Charente Maritime located in the region New Aquitaine. Located on the right bank of the Seudre, it faces directly the oyster town of La Tremblade to which it is connected by a bridge, and is only a little less than 25 kilometers from the seaside resort of Royan and the city of Rochefort. It is also an essential stopover on the road toIsland of Oléron.
