Tourist Attractions
The main attraction are the thermal springs Rainbow Springs and Bitter Springs a few kilometers outside of town. The Rainbow Springs are comparatively overcrowded, the swimming area is set in concrete and a campsite, restaurant, etc. is in the immediate vicinity. The Bitter Springs are still relatively natural and do not have that much public traffic. From a small jetty you can descend into the natural course of the river and swim a few hundred meters through the jungle in water that is over 30 ° C. The name Bitter Springs comes from the sulfur content in the water (it smells a bit foul), so it makes sense to first enjoy the Bitter Springs extensively and then quickly get clean again in the Rainbow Springs. The visit to the two thermal springs is free.
