Maun, pronounced "Ma'ūn," is a locality founded in 1915 Botswana and as a gateway to Okavango Delta as a transit station of tourist interest.

The widely spread urban area is traversed by the Thamalakane River. The airfield is right on the edge of the city center (Mathiba I. Rd.). The district on the eastern bank is called Boseja. The main roads are Tsheke Tsheko Rd. From the central roundabout to the southwest, Sekgoma Rd. To the southeast and Sir Seretse Khama Rd. To the north, and Moeti Rd. To the northwest to the airfield.

is 2015 by Air Botswana (Maun booking office, Tel .: 6860391) once a day Gaborone served. The company also flies directly to it Cape Town (2x a week) and daily from / to Johannesburg. The latter route also flies Airlink. With Air Namibia one arrives twice a week Windhoek, one of them is Maun a stopover from / to Victoria Falls.
Tour operators, in or near the airport, offer sightseeing flights as “air charter”, also by helicopter, over the delta and possibly other nearby national parks. The pricing of such offers is highly individual. A one-hour sightseeing flight in a propeller plane for 3-5 passengers costs at least P 2000, plus an airport tax per passenger. MackAir also flies longer distances with small planes.
By bus
The 2 Bus station is located at the shopping centers of the Mall on Tsheke Tsheko Rd.
The buses in Gaborone leave early in the morning. The travel time is 9-10 hours. Buses off Kasane with change in Nata (from direction Chobe National Park) as well as from Francistown take about five hours.
You can get from / to Namibia by changing trains in Ghanzi (4 hours), then 3½ to the border at Charles Hill / Mamuno.
Local minibuses (“combis”) serve fixed routes, but usually only leave when full. Route 1 goes to the airfield and accommodations in Matlapaneng.

The A3 trunk road bends at the roundabout, i.e. it leads from the Tsheke Tsheko in the Sekgoma Round further.

Numerous Lodges are scattered around the village of Matlapaneng, about ten kilometers northeast of the city center. This can be reached by minibuses (departure when full).
