The nearest airports with scheduled operations are in Košice (about 50 kilometers to the west) and Uzhhorod (about 50 kilometers east).

There are bus connections from Michalovce to neighboring countries, including to Hungary and in the Ukraine.
In the street
From the west, Michalovce is best reached via the D1 motorway through the Tatra Mountains or via the southern route (Zvolen). Alternatively, there is also an approach via the Hungarian motorways via Miskolc. About 40 km to the east there is a border crossing to Uzhhorod (Ukraine).

- Castle with castle park on the banks of the Laborec: Rectangular Renaissance building with open arcades (17th century). Today a museum inside.
- Catholic baroque pilgrimage church from the 14th-15th centuries Century next to the castle.
- Two Greek Catholic churches: Rococo (1772) and Neo-Byzantine (1931–34).
- Mausoleum of the Sztáray family on the Hrádok hill: free replica of Michael's Church in Košice in neo-Gothic style (1893–1898).
