The Moldavian monasteries are a group of monasteries in the Bukovina (Romania) in Romania. What the monasteries have in common is that they were built in the 15th and 16th centuries in the Prince's Tower of Moldova. The monasteries are famous for their magnificent exterior frescoes. Many of the buildings open Stefan the great back, who supposedly founded a monastery for every battle won.

Practical advice

The monasteries are religious sites and that should be discreet dress be respected. This includes covered knees and shoulders. Cell phones should be turned off or muted and ceremonies should not be disturbed.

At the entrance to the monastery there are usually notices what that means taking photos concerns. Usually there is an extra charge for taking pictures. Even if it is not explicitly required, you should not use a flash inside so as not to damage the old frescoes.
