Monastery - a port city in the middle of the east coast Tunisia, located approximately 15 km south of Susy. The history of the Monastery dates back to Phoenician and Roman times. The city experienced its golden age in the Middle Ages, during the reign of the Aghlabid dynasty. The name of the city comes from a Christian monastery.
