Located on the southeast edge of the province of Bari, until the 1960s it had its own small personal diocese of Monopoli, Monopoli famous for its historic center gathered around the port and for its beaches with wonderful seabeds, Monopoli is a very popular seaside resort in summer.
Background
Going through the countryside of Monopoli you will find the famous "trulli", Coreggia which is the only hamlet of Alberobello, the reality originally belonged to Monopoli until 13 January 1895 when with the will of the mayor number 29 Angelo Turi born 1856 of the historical left party of Giovanni Crispi took it with his own cause because it is too far about 15 km and has kinship with Alberobello and on 5 September 1896 he detaches himself from the diocese and the parish church of Monopoli and joins with the diocese of Conversano and the parish church of Alberobello and it was one of its hundreds of districts because its territory is large.
