How to get

You will need special permits to access Mount Athos, but this will only be granted to men (entry to women is prohibited). You will have to submit the application to the offices of Thessaloniki of the representation of the Monastic Republic listed below:

No more than 10 entry permits are issued per day and only for a maximum of 4 nights. Arrival must be confirmed at least two weeks before the departure date. The permit must be collected personally by the interested parties and presented together with the passport on arrival a Ouranoupoli.
