Moorea is one of the Society Islands.

To know

Just 21km northwest of Tahiti, Moorea offers white sands that are non-existent in Tahiti plus a rugged coastline covered with lush vegetation. However, Moorea remains a very expensive tourist destination.

Tourists gather in the towns of Pao-Pao and Tiahura, on the northern side where luxurious hotels are concentrated.

The island is entirely surrounded by a coral reef with a dozen navigable passages.

The maximum altitude is 1,207 m a.s.l. (Mount Tohiea)
