Cities
- 1 Cuamba – in Niassa province, mainly used as a transportation hub, as it is on the railway line from Port de Nacala to Malawi.
- 2 Island of mozambique (Ilha from Mozambique) – The island of Mozambique was the capital of the country when it was under domination Portugese, now it is a quiet and pretty island town in the province of Nampula. The site is listed as a World Heritage Site.
- 3 Lichinga – A temperate city with an international airport, it is the capital of the province of Niassa.
- 4 Metangula – a wonderful little town on the shores of Lake Malawi (Lake Niassa) in Niassa Province, the administrative center of the Lake District and the gateway to Cobue and the Wilderness Manda project.
- 5 Pemba – Coastal town in the province of Cabo Delgado well known for its beaches and scuba diving opportunities, and has an international airport with flights from neighboring African countries.
- 6 Nampula – The largest city in the north of the country in the homonymous province, but with little interest to the traveler.
- 7 Mocimboa da Praia – a border town of the province of Cabo Delgado for the passage to the Tanzania
