About

Due to the fact that so far no inscription has been found, the date of foundation of this settlement remains unknown. The church of the monastery dedicated to the "Healing Spring" has the entrance from the south, through the porch, because of the rock wall, rock wall found in the north. On the other two sides the building has walls built of stone and brick. The ceiling is also carved into the rock. The tower, with tin roof, is cemented at the top, and the base is part of the mountain rock.

Legends about the existence of this monastery tell that a shepherd made a stop at the foot of the mountain, at the edge of the forest, on a large rock, staying with the sheep here overnight. The shepherd was shown in a dream to the Mother of God and she told him that if he dug in the rock he would find his holy icon. After finding it, the shepherd built a church here. The place of prayer houses an icon of the Mother of God, which is said to be one of the twelve icons painted by St. Luke the Apostle. The architectural building is on the new list of historical monuments in Argeș County.
