About

Short history

Sinaia Monastery, New Church

Sinaia Monastery was built at 1695 of the great backrest Mihai Cantacuzino, son the bedfellow Constantin, and named by Dositei, the Patriarch of Jerusalem, "Buceagul Monastery". The appointment of Sinaia was given to the monastery by Cantacuzino, as can be seen from the founding act:

"I built the foundation and erected a sketch, called Sinaia, after the resemblance of the great Sinai and as shown by the Patriarch of Tsarigrad Gavriil (1702), whom Sinaia called well doing, urging a lot of love and devotion to the holy and God-walked Mount Sinai ”.
