Worth seeing
- When visiting the city it is worth visiting the main square of the city (named after Empress Sissi), which, along with its neighbor Múzeum tér it creates a vast green square surrounded by pretty historic buildings. The oldest of them - Vasemberház, that is House under the Iron Man - stands in the southern frontage Erzsébet tér. The name of this baroque-classicist two-story tenement house, erected in the middle of the 18th century by Batthyany, comes from the sign of a 19th-century iron trading company, depicting a knight in armor. Today, the building houses a wedding palace and a small art gallery.
