Lahemaa National Park[1][2] is a nature reserve in the north of Estonia.
Info
Lahemaa National Park is located about 50km east of Tallinn. You will find forests, coastlines, swamps and huge boulders. One of the most visited places in the park is Viru raba (Viru bog), which has a footpath about 5 km long and a watchtower.
History
The area was once used as the estate of several wealthy German landowners. Around the First World War, however, the landowners were expelled, and the country houses were given another use.
Landscape
Lots of forest, swamp, villages, coastlines and huge boulders.
Flora and fauna
You are not allowed to visit some parts of the year in certain parts of the year, due to, among other things, the breeding season. It is not monitored whether people also adhere to this, so take your responsibility and use your common sense. Particularly striking are the mosquitoes. It doesn't bother you while cycling, as long as you don't stand still.
