To look at

  • Only 4 kilometers outside Nafplion is the impressive site of ancient Tiryns (N 37O36,049'E 22O47.925').
  • Immediately outside Nafplion, in the direction of Epidauros, is the monastery of Agia Moni. This rather small monastery has a Byzantine church from the 11th century within its walls. When the monastery was visited in May 2010, only 6 nuns lived there. Previously, cloth was woven and sold, but these activities had ceased due to the small number of living nuns. According to an initiate, there were still 20 living nuns living around 1995.
