Noord (river) - Noord (Fluss)

Map of the Noord

The North is a tidal river in South Holland between the industrialized island of IJsselmonde in the west and the heavily agricultural polder Alblasserwaard in the east. The Noord is a very busy shipping route that crosses the rivers Beneden-Merwede and Oude Maas at Dordrecht with the merging of Lek and Noord zur Nieuwe Maas connects to the north side of Ridderkerk.

Industry

In the past, this river was shaped by many shipyards, some of which still exist. At the Rietbaan, a narrow parallel river to the Noord near Hendrik-Ido-Ambacht, the opposite of shipbuilding can be seen, namely scrapping operations for ocean liners.
