Nordborg is a city in the north of the island As, a Danish island in Kattegat.
background
Nordborg is the second largest city on the island of Als and is exactly opposite to the largest city, Sønderborg in the far north of the island. The name of the city is based on Nordborg Castle, which is on the outskirts of the city. A single product that comes from Nordborg is known far beyond the country's borders: the Danfoss thermostatic valve; Danfoss was founded in Nordborg in 1933 and today has production facilities in 21 countries.
