Northern Namibia is the northernmost region Namibia. Under the South African occupation it was under the name Ovamboland known. The area is now divided into various administrative sub-regions and - although mainly rural - the most densely populated region in the country. Northern Namibia is also home to the Ovambos, the largest ethnic group in Namibia.
