Free. – The Novgorod Kremlin or Detinets comprises the majority of the city's cultural attractions. Two gates one from the footbridge over the river, the other through Sofiyskaya Square and the Statue of Lenin are open to pedestrians. A beach along the bank of the river is accessible from a gate inside the Kremlin wall.

Besides its Kremlin and its churches, Novgorod seduces with the madness of its nightlife. The Notchnoi Okean (Ocean of the Night) is by far the largest nightclub and the privileged meeting point for all Novgorod youth. Le Camelot, with a more Muscovite atmosphere, would almost make you forget for a few moments the harshness of everyday Russian life. Finally, the Talisman, located in the outskirts of the city, remains an excellent base at the end of the evening.
