Nyala or Niyala, Arabic:نيالا, Niyālā, is a big city in Dārfūr and the capital of the state of South Dārfūr.

Nyala is an industrial city and the capital of South Dārfūr. It is an important trading post for Gum arabic. Although Nyālā is in Dārfūr, it has escaped most violent conflicts. However, there are thousands of refugees in camps outside the city.

The small airport 1 Nyala Airport(IATA: UYL) offers several flights a day Sudan Airways of al-Charṭūm off on.
Nyala is also the western terminus of the rail network in Sudan. Operation is sporadic and there is no set schedule. There should be at least 1-2 pairs of trains per month from al-Charṭūm and from ar-Rahad circulate. The travel time is up to 50 hours.
