Darfur or Dar Fur, Arabic:دار فور‎, Dār Fūr, is the westernmost region in Sudan and adjoins Chad. The region comprises the five states of Gharb Dārfūr (West Darfur), Shamāl Dārfūr (North Darfur), Dschanūb Dārfūr (South Darfur), Sharq Dārfūr (East Darfur) and Wasaṭ Dārfūr (Central Darfur).
