Obergurgl is part of the community Soelden in the rear Ötztal in the Imst district, Tyrol.
At the end of the Gurgltal lies Obergurgl, at 1,930 m the highest church village in Austria. Obergurgl is also a well-known winter sports area.

In the street

In winter, winter sports enthusiasts get their money's worth in the Obergurgl-Hochgurgl ski region.
The Obergurgl-Hochgurgl ski region has a total of 22 ski lifts at around 2000 meters of snow. A total of 110 km of slopes are available and there is guaranteed snow from mid-November to the end of April. 90 percent of all slopes in Obergurgl-Hochgurgl can be artificially snowed up to 3,000 m, which strengthens the reputation of the region as the "most snow-sure winter sports resort in the Alps" in technical terms too.
