Oberpullendorf (Hungarian: Felsõpulya) is a city in Central Burgenland, Austria with around 3,000 inhabitants and a high proportion of Hungarian-speaking population. The Hungarian name of the city, Fensõpulya, is given on the bilingual place-name sign.

Tourist Attractions

  • The “Prehistoric Iron Industry” showroom is located in the town hall, where archaeological finds from iron smelting in the region from the Neolithic Age are shown.
  • Francis Church. Built in 1707, the oldest building in Oberpullendorf.
  • Oberpullendorf Castle. Middle Ages to the 18th century, former fort of the Rohonczy family, today the education and conference center of the Eisenstadt diocese.
