The oblast is located in the north-eastern part of Russia. To the south it borders with Khabarovsk Krai, from the west with Yakutia, from the north with Chukotka, partly from the east with Kamchatka country and the rest from the east is flooded by the waters of the Sea of u200b u200bOkhotsk.
