Still - Ociąż

Still is a village in Greater Poland Voivodeship, In northern part Ostrów County, in the western part of the commune Nowe Skalmierzyce.

Information

It has about 1,000 inhabitants. Still, it was first mentioned in 1402 as Eyes.

Drive

It is situated by the district road Fabians-Kotowiecko, about 11 km north-east of Ostrów Wielkopolski. The easiest way to get there is by taking the national road no 25 and then take the turn to the district road in the village Fabians. There is also a railway station in Oiąż, where passenger trains on the route stop Ostrow Wielkopolski - Kalisz.

Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary
  • It is worth visiting the wooden one Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary from 1785-86, covered with shingle. There is a polychrome inside Wiktor Gosieniecki from 1929, and the main painting in the Rococo cabinet-like altar Our Lady of the Snow from 1637, by a painter with the initials A.S.
