Limburg - Divisible into Northern Limburg is South Limburg. Unlike the rest of the country, the southern part of Limburg is a hilly area. Explore the beautiful city of Maastricht and experience the wonderful mix of cultures.
North Brabant - Originally a Catholic stronghold of the Netherlands with cozy historic villages, also known for its industry and the historic cities of Breda and 's-Hertogenbosch or the well-preserved' cities' (fortifications) of Heusden and Willemstad.
Zealand - Seaside and seaside resorts, with the Delta Plan as a monument to the grueling Dutch struggle against water. Also worth visiting is the historic center of Middelburg, its capital.
Urban centers
- 's-Hertogenbosch - Capital of Noord-Brabant, a well-preserved city known for Bossche Bollen (chocolate balls) and St. John's Cathedral.
- Breda - Former military stronghold with a well-preserved historic center and military and industrial buildings undergoing redevelopment.
- Eindhoven - A city that has earned its status thanks to Philips technology. It is known for modern design, vibrant nightlife and of course technology.
- Heerlen
- Maastricht - One of the oldest cities in the Netherlands that is undoubtedly worth a visit with its cultural mix and at the foot of the Ardennes.
- Middelburg - Relaxing university town and capital of Zeeland. The historic center is well preserved.
- Tilburg - Formerly the 'wool capital' of the Netherlands; Tilburg cannot be defined as a historic city due to a major urban renewal that took place in 1960, however, some monumental buildings, such as King William II's palace, still survive.
- Valkenburg aan de Geul
- Vlissingen - Once the most important port for international trade in the Netherlands although it still has an important naval function. Vlissingen (sometimes called in English Flushing) is also the birthplace of Michiel de Ruyter, the most famous admiral in Dutch history.
Other destinations
- Biesbosch National Park - One of the largest national parks in the Netherlands and one of the last freshwater areas in Europe.
- Delta plan - The huge barriers have definitively ended the country's grueling struggle against the sea.
