Jasper National Park is one of the best known and oldest national parks of canada. It is located in the Rocky Mountains and covers an area of over 10 800 km2. It protects an important animal and plant biodiversity. It has been recognized as the site of Unesco World Heritage within canadian rocky mountain parks.

Access rights
All visitors stopping in the park must have a park access permit, even if you stop only to buy gasoline. However, it is not necessary to have a permit if you only cross the park on Highway 16 without stopping there. Daily and annual passes are available:
- Day passes: 8 $ C per adult, 4 $ C per child, 7 $ C per senior and 16 $ C by family
- Annual passes: 55 $ C per adult, 27 $ C per child, 46 $ C per senior and 109 $ C by family
Other variable fees are added for the right to camp or for exploring the backcountry.
By car
Highway 16 (Yellowhead) crosses the park from east to west. Hinton is located at 69 km and Edmonton To 350 km to the East ; Valemount is located at 110 km West. The only other way to access the park by car is via the Icefields Parkway from Lake louise south of the park.
By train
VIA Rail Canada provides passenger train service to the park fromEdmonton and of Vancouver. There is also the private Rocky Mountaineer sightseeing train service.
By plane
The closest airport to the park is that ofEdmonton To 350 km to the East.
